This diptych, or two-panel poem, is an ekphrastic response to the postcard reproduction of "Shoshone Falls on the Snake River," a famous landscape painting by Thomas Moran, who was derisively referred to as "the postcard painter" during his lifetime. This series of one-of-a-kind, handwritten poems is part of a larger, on-going ekphrastic project that repsonds to this painting by Moran. The feature work, "Journey to Shoshone Falls," is a language-based installation currently on display at the Gilcrease Museum, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, through March 15, 2020. Learn more here.
